In this video, John shows what you can do once you’ve had a little practice, including spinning the top upside down. His four-year-old daughter, meanwhile, demonstrates the more conventional approach: spinning it the right way up, and shows just how easy it is for small hands to get started.

Once you’ve mastered a good spin, these little tops are brilliant for experimenting with tricks. Try spinning them on a tray, a hardback book or a spinning board and see what you can make them do.
