John's

Story

John grew up in Hainault, London, where he first discovered his love of woodturning as a teenager. What started as a hobby soon became a lifelong passion, eventually leading him to turn his craft into a full-time career when he moved to Cornwall in 2013.

Since then, John has built more than just a business. He has built his own home, raised a family, and created a life centred around craftsmanship, creativity, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Sustainability and respect for nature are at the heart of everything he does. John works hard to source materials as locally as possible, carefully selecting wood from trusted local suppliers and treating both the materials he uses and the people he works with with care and respect.

When he's not at the lathe, you'll often find him with a musical instrument in hand. Music has always been another of John's great passions, and if you catch him in the Craft Kiln, there's a good chance he'll be playing while he works.

Every piece John creates reflects his commitment to quality, sustainability, and the beauty of handcrafted work. By combining traditional skills with thoughtfully sourced materials, he creates pieces designed to be treasured for years to come.
